Born in 2002, German, Sarah arrives in Romagna after six important years in the Bundesliga with Dresdner SC, one of the most historic and prestigious clubs in German women’s volleyball. A real market coup for Omag-Mt, which entrusts the direction of the team to a young talent but with a lot of experience behind her. Her journey began at the federal center VC Olympia Dresden, a nursery designed to grow the promises of Dresdner SC. Since her school days Sarah has shown great qualities, earning the passage to the first team and quickly becoming a regular presence on the court. Nice words for her from her former coach Alexander Waibl in a recent interview:

“She is a fundamental player. The setter is a key role, and seeing it covered by a girl who grew up in our nursery is something special. Sarah knows how to handle pressure and this makes her truly unique.”

And in fact, with Dresden, she has already put important titles in the showcase: the German Cup in 2020 and 2025 and in 2021 the German championship and the Super Cup. Sarah’s arrival is a clear signal: we want to continue to grow by focusing on quality, personality and vision of the game. And she has all of this. Welcome Sarah, we can’t wait to see you on the pitch with us! Here are her first words reached in retreat with her national team in Modena:

Hi Sarah, tell us a little about yourself:

“I was born on April 26, 2002 in a small town in Germany. At the time, my mother was still playing volleyball, so you could say that the passion for this sport was passed on to me from an early age. When I was young, I started playing as a spiker. The transition to the role of setter came about thanks to my coach at the time, who saw greater potential in me in that position. I have already played six seasons in the German Bundesliga, where I gained experience and grew a lot. Now I feel that the time has come to take the next step. Playing in the Italian championship has always been a dream for me, and I am very grateful to San Giovanni for making it possible. I have heard a lot of good things about the club, especially the fact that the relationship between the club, the team and the fans is very familiar. This made the decision to come to San Giovanni even easier. I only know the Italian Serie A through the stories of my teammates in the national team; therefore, for me there will be many new things to discover. I hope that we will be able to create a good group quickly and to prove our worth in Serie A1. On a personal level, I want to learn as much as possible from the technical staff and continue to grow as a player. I can’t wait for this new adventure to begin!
